The Methodological Centre for Conservation of the Technical Museum in Brno, in cooperation with the Commission of Conservator-Restorers of the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries, the ŠKODA Museum, and the Museum of Mladá Boleslav, invites you to the 34th Annual Conference of Conservator-Restorers. The conference is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries, the Czech ICOM, and other partners.
The Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav offers a unique insight into 130 years of the brand’s development within its authentic production halls. The permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions, storage facilities and conference rooms bring together tradition, technical development and a contemporary perspective on mobility. ABOUT CONFERENCE
The conference aims to present new trends and examples of best practices in the care of cultural heritage. The program will feature the results of research on historical materials, new methods and tools for the treatment and long-term preservation of movable and immovable cultural heritage objects, as well as case studies of conservation and restoration interventions. The conference will take the form of lectures and poster presentations followed by discussions. The program will also include a professional field trip. The conference will also feature a plenary session of the Commission of Conservator-Restorers of the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries.
CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS
The conference is intended for conservator-restorers at memory institutions (museums, galleries, libraries, archives, etc.), private restorers, educators and students at restoration schools, heritage conservationists, natural scientists, and experts in other related professions.
INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS AND PRESENTERS
Peer-reviewed papers may be submitted by March 31, 2026, and informational papers and posters by June 10, 2026, by sending the text of the contribution to fricova@tmbrno.cz and completing the online form on the MCK TMB website. Papers and poster abstracts approved by the editorial board will be published in the journal Forum for Conservators-Restorers (FKR). Guidelines for authors can be found on the FKR journal website. If you wish to present a paper at the conference without publication, please fill out only the online form.
INFORMATION FOR POSTER AUTHORS
The ideal format for printing poster presentations is A0. Posters will be attached to panels using double-sided adhesive tape. Since many participants have expressed interest in having their poster presentations published on the conference website, we would like to try using a QR code for this purpose. We would appreciate it if authors could include a QR code on their posters that links to the panel content. You can use QR code generators such as QRCode Chimp, MEQR, or QRGenerator.
PRESENTING COMPANIES
Presentations by guest companies are also a regular feature of the Conference of Conservator-Restorers program.
