TECHNART is a biennial international conference that aims to present and promote advances in analytical techniques applied to cultural heritage science, including art, archaeology and the wider field of cultural heritage conservation. Since its first edition in Lisbon in 2007, the conference has been held in cities such as Athens, Berlin, Amsterdam, Catania, Bilbao, Bruges and most recently in Lisbon in 2023.
The meeting, which usually brings together around 400 participants from all over the world, is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in cutting-edge research and innovative approaches in the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary field of scientific methodologies for studying the nature, properties and changes of cultural heritage materials (including pigments, stones, metals, glass, ceramics, proteins, lipids and other natural and synthetic organic materials) or for data storage and processing, or for understanding and developing standards for museum conservation and restoration.
