Production of replica water pump for Wartburg 1900 Motorwagen model 2 Decauville
Martin Kroužil, Martin Mrázek
For the commissioning of the car from the Automobile Museum in Eisenach we were asked to make a replica of a water pump, the original of which was borrowed from the same car from the collections of the National technical museum in Prague. In cooperation with Mr. Jiří Novák from Brno, 3D data was processed using reverse engineering to produce wax models. These were subsequently cast in the Metal Experimental Workshop of the Technical museum in Brno using the method of precision casting into a ceramic shell. Subsequently, the castings were machined and the pump was assembled. The car could then be put into operation and hit the road, as can be seen in the attached video.
